This posting is just a TEST, being the new admin (temporarily replacing the current SMUNVAA wEbsite administator (ADMIN) alumnus JOSELITO (LITO, LEE TENGCO), SMC graduate, this is my TEST message to ALL SMC/SMU alumni active in our website SMUNVAA aka (St MAry's UNIVERSITY NUEVA VIZCAYA ALUMNI ASSN)data base (kindergarten thru college, Masters, Doctorate, etc,).
WHY am I doing This, you ask:well, I am happy to say that I have volunteered to act as the planner of the SMUNVAA reunion (piggybacking on the current 'Centennial Celebration' event currently in operation. Since I am more or less informed of this event, being an active SMUNVAA alumna,I wanted to plan an SMUNVAA reunion here in Bayombong!!! If younrecall you may have attended one of the 12 reunions, the last one was in Missouri (previos ones in Las Vegas, all in the USA).This one will be in our beloved BAYOMBONG, NV!! A homecoming indeed!!! How wonderful!!
A detailed plan, where. how much (donation), accomodations, food etc will be sent to you all soon, take care, Tess Domingo.

Sharing your 3T’s – Time, Talent and Treasure – with our Alma Mater

For 2016: Excerpts of some of SMU officers/alumni’ charitable mission and visions:

A. Marlene Cordero mission:

  • Medical missions: Laoag then Calbayog
  • GK home in Cabiao built 15 years ago as a class project in conjunction with another group. The project is very near downtown right on the main highway. There are 100 homes & with ongoing support, we also have a beautiful community center, conference/ library/ entertainment center & chapel.
  • We have graduated a number of residents from college & a few are currently in college.  This was part of my inspiration for SMU Nueva Vizcaya Alumni.

B. Tess Domingo, Jaime Venturina, Vicky Antonio, Theresina Estalilla Vision:

  • Met with the SMU Alumni Care Team (SMU-ACT) officers.  That is the organization that operates the Hospice Care Project funded by SMUHSGSAAI with counterpart from the Franciscan headquarters in Germany. Officers of SMU-ACT include Dr. Jaime Venturina and Vicky Antonio, former President and Secretary of SMUHSGSAAI respectively.
  • Plan to involve  the SFO-based SMU NV Alumni.  Dr. Venturina was open to the idea of forming a Philippine-based alumni contingent going to SFO to attend the 2016 Reunion. We thought Vicky could join him as she is SMU's Alumni Relations Head.

  • Invite  Fr. Neil (president of Bayombong SMU) about the SMU NV Alumni there and of inviting him to attend.   Invite SMU NV Alumni … to  participate in it as its "Charitable Activity".  … we hope that SMU NV Alumni may appreciate supporting this Project.
  •  At the forefront of this Project is Sr. Theresina Estalilla who supervises three nurses and networks with doctors (Dr. Jim included) in providing hospice care services to identified patients in all barangays of Bayombong.  This activity has helped not only the patients but also the members of their families in coping with their situation emotionally, psychologically and spiritually.  I can provide copy of our report later.

C. Romy Baliton Vision:

  • Everyone felt the need for a chapel in the cemetery. But no one has taken a bold initiative to do something about it, until, the present Parish Priest, Rev. Msgr. Edmundo C. Beronio, decided to undertake the project of building a Chapel, WITH or WITHOUT funds. …
  • the groundbreaking ceremony of the BISHOP ALBERTO VAN OVERBEKE, CICM MEMORIAL CHAPEL will be held …at the entrance of the Catholic Cemetery. This will signal the start of the construction. The chapel is being named after the first Bishop of the Diocese of Bayombong.

Giving and sharing is ALWAYS an opportunity to be blessed. God who sees in secret, will bless and reward us a hundredfold:
